Pike Place Market: Taxi Dogs

This takeout-only hot dog stand serves up links made with veal, pork, chicken, turkey, beef, salmon, or soy. Pick your favorite, and get it topped with a variety of veggies, cheeses, coleslaw, or chili, and get a side of chips or potato salad.

They have cream cheese and grilled onions, but no bacon, so you can’t order yourself a true Seattle dog, but their made-to-order dogs will still hit the spot. And they’ll do it without breaking the bank: they all come in under $6, and upgrading to a combo with a side and drink will cost another $3.50; chips and a drink is $2.25.

On hot summer days, finish off with a fresh-squeezed lemonade, and enjoy everything under the totem poles with a view of Mount Rainier and the Olympic Mountains. There’s a park across the street with some fabulous views, and a few seats available.
